I’m Ellen, a junior from Tampa, Florida, majoring in Materials Science and Engineering and Physics in the VIPER program, and I'm interested in nanoscience and quantum materials. In Prof. Cherie Kagan’s group, my research focuses on fabricating metasurface leaf sensors for precision agriculture, with the goal of streamlining lithography processes for energy applications. I currently serve as President of the MSE Society, where we host events ranging from liquid nitrogen ice cream socials to board game nights, and as Finance Director of the Society of Women Engineers (pennswe.com). I’m also a board member of the Penn Association for Gender Equity (PAGE). Beyond academics and clubs, I’m a violinist in the Penn Symphony Orchestra and enjoy swimming.
